Well, it's the middle of September already. Holy moly. I have no idea where the rest of the months went, but here we are and we are on the downhill slide to a very strange year! We finally got the new front door installed, and the drywall and texturizing was done 2 weeks ago. I managed to get the guestroom, craftroom and our bedroom new drywall areas around the new windows primed and painted shortly after on the weekend, and then all of Oregon caught fire. That was scary! We had a crazy and unprecedented wind storm blow over from the east, along with some lightning, existing fires, and blown down powerlines, and the next thing everyone knew, there was forest fire chaos everywhere. The sky on the morning of September 8th is something I will never forget. It almost looked like it was photoshopped for a movie. Red, angry skies in the background and glowing trees in the front, as the sunshine tried to shine amidst the nasty smoke. It was very "halloweeny" looking out there! The smoke is still hanging around today. Rains are in the forecast and fingers are crossed that they are enough to help get the fires under control. So, between that and the darn COVID-19 that is still lingering around, I figured I might as well start on some Fall and Halloween decorations, because it the holidays will be here before you know it!
I found some cute wire wreaths in the shape of witch hats and pumpkins on Etsy. The Dollartree Store has tons of decorations for the season, so I stocked up on ribbons and flowers to make a few different wreaths for the new front door. These aren't super fancy, but they were simple to make and look pretty darned cute! I can't wait until the house and door are all painted up and ready to be decorated!!
